February 19th, 2008 by jfisher

H.W., in his 4th hour of devotion and prayer:-), this morning came across this devotion, in the classic daily devotional book by Oswald Chambers ‘My utmost for His highest’.  It follows well with the teaching/discussion from last night so I’m going to post it here.

Encouragement in trials

November 1st, 2007 by kthoman

James 1:12(NKJV)
Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

In our study of James chapter 1 last week, we spoke of such scripture subcategories as “profiting from trials,” “loving God under trials” and “qualities needed in trials.” Trials, trials, trials…the Bible is steeped in discussion regarding trials.

I don’t know about other people, but the Lord has always kept in my mind the fragility and temporal nature of life here. The below verse is a pointed reminder for all of us.

Hebrews 9:27(NKJV)
And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

Hubbies and future hubbies

August 30th, 2007 by jfisher

Hey Guys,

I wanted to give the guys a bit of discipleship in the area of husbandry and the ladies something to think about as you look for a hubby. Misusing our liberty

August 20th, 2007 by jfisher

A friend asked me a question about the appearance of evil in a Christian’s life… below is a generalized response…
