Wonderful… full of wonder

Whenever we read the Bible to our kids, they always want to hear the story of “God dying on the cross”.  And why not, even though at this point in my life it’s easy for me to take that for granted.  If you think about it for a sec, that’s some pretty crazy stuff we believe.  God… dying?  It kind of goes against what we think God should do.  Just one of many reasons the true and living God of the Bible is rightfully called awesome.  To know God actually understands from the first person what suffering is like and can truly comfort us when we suffer, is one of the many things that totally distinguishes Christianity from all other religions.

See from his head, his hands, his feet
Sorrow and love flow mingled down
Did ever such love and sorrow meet
Or thorns compose so rich a crown
O the wonderful cross
