I’ve been reading Jude lately… something that stuck out at me tonight was verse 16.

Jude 16(NKJV)
These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage.

This whole book is basically talking about apostate people; I guess I would describe an apostate person, in the context of this book, as someone who calls himself a Christian but is not. This verse, in particular, describes some traits to watch out for. What struck me tonight is that I’ve fit almost this whole passage, at times. But by the grace of Jesus I am saved… So if I have and sometimes still do fit this description, what’s the difference between me and someone who is apostate? Repentance. It is, as PD says, recognizing and turning away from sin, not continuing to walk in it. Sometimes I turn away and then keep turning until I’ve done a 360… but by His grace and patience I turn away again.

Thank God His mercies are new every morning.

Lord Bless you!
