Walking in the Spirit
The Holy Spirit is very important in the believer’s life. He gives the believer boldness to testify of the Lord Jesus Christ. Colossians 4 was written by the Apostle Paul while he was chained to a Roman guard in a prison. It makes you wonder what type of witness Paul gave this Roman soldier. The soldier would have had to have been an eye witness of Paul’s passion and ferver for reaching and teaching the Good News and Christ-like living. While chained he still persevered by the awesome power of the Holy Spirit.
That is the type follower of Jesus we all need to be to reach the lost and teach the saved. All you have to do is ask the true living God to fill you with His Holy Spirit and by faith you can receive Him, all to the glory of Jesus Christ. Check these verses out concerning the Holy Spirit:
Luke 11:9-13 (New King James Version)
Jesus stated -
9 “So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
Ephesians 5:18-19 (New Living Translation)
18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit, 19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.
Acts 1:8 (New King James Version)
Jesus stated -
8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Acts 4:31 (New King James Version)
31 And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Followers of Jesus need power, and that power comes by His Holy Spirit. God is good.
